Imagine green rolling pastures, a beautifully restored barn and the warmest hosts to greet you. This is what we experienced when we pulled in the driveway to 6 Pastures in Winchester, VA. The venue is located a few miles down Apple Pie Ridge Road and when you arrive it feels like you’re worlds away from the stresses of every day life.
The owners, Paul & Mary Valentino, are so kind and welcoming. 6 Pastures was born out of Paul’s desire for a cattle farm and Mary’s impeccable eye for design. Four kids and over 40 years of marriage later, they created the vision for their farm and turned it into the perfect venue to say “I do”.
When we pulled into the main driveway we were greeted by lush green pastures, the green slate barn and the most welcoming hosts. The fresh air and scenic views are so abundant, it’s easy to forget the business of every day life.
Every detail on the venue is well thought out, with the interior of the barn being no exception! There are two large doors that open on either side, revealing a stunning view and allowing a gentle breeze to flow through the space. The exposed beams and Edison lights make the space feel open yet intimate. On the lower level of the barn there are ADA approved restrooms (and yes, even the restrooms are gorgeous!).
The guest house is the perfect place for the bridal party to hang out and get ready before the big day. The brick and stone from the original house was used to create a gorgeous entrace to the guest house. The fireplace and soon to be putting green make for some fun features, but the views from the interior of the house and the deck take the cake!
The interior of the home is absolutely beautiful. It is full of fun features, like reclaimed wood (hello, ship lap!), a stone fireplace, and a full length glass window on the top level that shows an stunning view. Mary has an incredible design eye and attention to detail. The guest house has a light and airy feel to it and we joked that it was an “understated Joanna Gaines” look. The bottom floor features a sitting room that’s perfect for the groom and his friends to get ready, a wet bar and a screened in sunroom. The top floor has a small sitting room with a great view, a bedroom for the bride and her friends to get ready, and a spacious full bathroom.
There’s a deck on the back of the farm house where you can relax between the festivities of the big day. It’s a great place for bridal party photos and maybe even enjoy a glass of wine. The lush green pastures, cattle grazing in the distance and fresh air will make you forget about the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
We greatly enjoyed the few hours we were able to spend with Paul and Mary at 6 Pastures. We are so excited to collaborate with them and help our mutual clients have the most amazing wedding day!
